Hugh Jackman’s first world tour heads to BB&T Center in July
Hugh Jackman’s first world tour will play Sunrise’s BB&T Center on July 6, 2019, but you can get the tickets starting Friday, December 7 at 10 a.m. Tickets for “The Man, The Music, The Show” can be purchased through HughJackmanTheShow.com. At press time there is no information on the prices. Starting Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. tickets will also be available at the BB&T Center’s box office located at 1 Panther Parkway, in Sunrise.
Perhaps best known for playing Wolverine in the “X-Men” movie franchise, the Aussie actor also won a Golden Globe (and was nominated for an Oscar) for his turn as Jean Valjean in the big screen adaptation of the musical “Les Misérables.” He is currently in movie theaters as presidential hopeful Gary Hart in “The Front Runner.”
Jackman won a Tony Award in 2004 for his portrayal of singer/songwriter Peter Allen in the musical “The Boy From Oz.” Before he became a global star, he starred in Australian theater productions of “Beauty and the Beast” and “Sunset Boulevard” in 1996. He first made a name for himself on the boards in 1998 heading up a London West End staging of “Oklahoma!”
In New York, Jackman co-starred alongside Daniel Craig in the play “A Steady Rain” in 2009. Two year later he returned to the Great White Way in the highly successful one-man show “Hugh Jackman: Back on Broadway.”
He also hosted the Tonys in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and the Academy Awards in 2009.
