Hugh Jack­man’s first world tour heads to BB&T Cen­ter in July

Hugh Jack­man’s first world tour will play Sun­rise’s BB&T Cen­ter on July 6, 2019, but you can get the tick­ets start­ing Fri­day, De­cem­ber 7 at 10 a.m. Tick­ets for “The Man, The Mu­sic, The Show” can be pur­chased through Hugh­Jack­man­TheShow.com. At press time there is no in­for­ma­tion on the prices. Start­ing Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. tick­ets will also be avail­able at the BB&T Cen­ter’s box of­fice lo­cated at 1 Pan­ther Park­way, in Sun­rise.

Per­haps best known for play­ing Wolver­ine in the “X-Men” movie fran­chise, the Aussie ac­tor also won a Golden Globe (and was nom­i­nated for an Os­car) for his turn as Jean Val­jean in the big screen adap­ta­tion of the mu­si­cal “Les Misérables.” He is cur­rently in movie the­aters as pres­i­den­tial hope­ful Gary Hart in “The Front Run­ner.”

Jack­man won a Tony Award in 2004 for his por­trayal of singer/song­writer Peter Allen in the mu­si­cal “The Boy From Oz.” Be­fore he be­came a global star, he starred in Aus­tralian the­ater pro­duc­tions of “Beauty and the Beast” and “Sun­set Boule­vard” in 1996. He first made a name for him­self on the boards in 1998 head­ing up a Lon­don West End stag­ing of “Ok­la­homa!”

In New York, Jack­man co-starred along­side Daniel Craig in the play “A Steady Rain” in 2009. Two year later he re­turned to the Great White Way in the highly suc­cess­ful one-man show “Hugh Jack­man: Back on Broad­way.”

He also hosted the Tonys in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and the Academy Awards in 2009.
