Caution sending aid to Venezuela

-

We all are enthusiastic about helping Venezuela and its people. But I caution those wanting to send assistance and support.

I lived through an earthquake in Managua, Nicaragua, in 1972. Unfortunately, international aid was controlled by Nicaraguan President Anastasio Somoza’ s army and they deprived the suffering people of receiving the well-intended relief.

Aid for Venezuela must be carefully planned and distributed through responsible agencies and with rigorous order. Otherwise, there will be disorder and chaos, with which the military of Venezuela could easily control to their advantage and political benefit.
