- By Ben Crandell bcrandell@sunsentinel.com

Bob Weir will perform in his latest post-Dead incarnation, the trio Wolf Bros, at the Fillmore Miami Beach on March 26.

Reserved-seat tickets cost $103.50, $84.50, $69.50 and $59.50, and are available at LiveNation.com, by phone at 800-745-3000 and at the Fillmore box office, 1700 Washington Ave. For more information, visit FillmoreMB.com.

The Grateful Dead guitarist and founder is joined by two familiar faces on the Wolf Bros tour, Don Was on bass and Jay Lane on drums. Wolf Bros set lists have been wide-ranging, heavy on the deep recesses of the Dead catalog, and spiked with favorites by Jerry Garcia, RatDog, Bob Dylan and others.

Apart from his band Was Not Was, bassist Was has produced and collaborated with artists including the Rolling Stones, John Mayer and Bob Dylan. Was introduced Weir and Dead drummer Mickey Hart to John Mayer, which eventually led to the formation of Dead & Company.

Lane is a founding member of Weir’s longtime band RatDog, and also has toured with the Weir-Phil Lesh collaboration Furthur and performed with Weir and Rob Wasserman as part of Scaring the Children.

“Wolf Bros is something that really took its roots back in the spring of 2015 when Don Was helped us piece together Dead & Company,” Weir said in a statement. “For a while now I’ve been itchin’ to explore our songs in a trio setting. An upright bass, my acoustic or electric guitar and a drummer. We did some rehearsals this past spring and it was big fun—and that’s the whole idea. We were kickin’ around Dead songs as well as tunes from my back pages. I’m pretty sure we’re gonna have a big adventure with this.”
