Restaurant oasis grows in Hallandale Beach
La Estancia Argentina, a chain featuring Argentine cuisine, opened at Atlantic
Kosher sushi, Peruvian ceviche, Argentinian empanadas baked daily and health-minded acai bowls are ready for noshing in a fast-rising restaurant and office complex that recently opened along South Federal Highway in Hallandale Beach. On deck: arepas and burgers.
Four of six restaurants planned for the first phase of Atlantic Village, at 801 N. Federal Highway, are now open, with another two expected to debut in coming months. The sprawling project eventually will stretch southward with apartments, shops and more restaurants.
The first phase, on the edge of the Big Easy (nee Mardi Gras) Casino and greyhound track, has opened incrementally in the past two months, with diverse food offerings catering to southeastern Broward’s influx of
Israeli communities.
Already serving: Dr. Limon Ceviche Bar, the sixth outpost of a regional Peruvian chain specializing in raw marinated fish; Sardina, a Kosher restaurant featuring sushi and salads; and La Estancia Argentina, a chain started by an Argentine expatriate that has other outposts in Miami-Dade. It features a bright and airy dining room and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, specializing in baked goods such as empanadas and pastries, sandwiches and grilled meat platters.

Sardina (sardina-kosher.business.site, 954-399-9859) is certified kosher and closes for the Jewish Sabbath on Friday nights and Saturdays. Its menu features fish, sushi, salads, vegetable dishes, pastas and pizza.
The restaurant does not serve beef, lamb or other meat because of Jewish dietary law that prohibits the mixing of meat with cheese and other dairy products.
La Estancia Argentina (laestanciaweb.com, 954-454-9900) features a wide-ranging menu that includes breakfast specials ($8 including coffee, juice and choice of entree), salads and sandwiches for lunch ($9-$18) and dinner entrees including chicken or beef milanesa, blood sausages and mixed grill parillada platters ($32 small, $48 large).
Pastries and empanadas ($2.75-$3.25 each, with varieties including spinach, cheese, mushroom, beef and chicken) are baked fresh in-house every morning.
It opens for breakfast at 8 a.m. (9 a.m. Sunday) and closing hours are 8:30 p.m. Sunday, 9 p.m. weeknights and 11 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
