Over a period of nearly 20 years, she worked for two schools within the Dade County School System and for Parkway Regional Medical Center, retiring in 1986. She was a devout Catholic and spent much of her life making rosaries which were distributed to missions worldwide. She was, most recently, a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church.
