Driver killed in fiery crash on Powerline Road

BOCA RATON – A driver was killed in a crash that fully burned a car Monday morning in Boca Raton.

The single-car crash happened before dawn on Powerline Road at El Paseo Road, a short distance south of Glades Road.

According to Boca Raton police, the driver was the only occupant of the car.

The car appeared to have slammed into a tree and then burst into flames, leaving the vehicle burned beyond recognition.

The identity of the driver has not been released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
