Officials say former personal trainer who accused NFL star of rape has not filed reports about it in Florida.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A former personal trainer who accused NFL star Antonio Brown of rape has not filed police reports about it in Florida, police said Wednesday.

In a civil lawsuit filed Tuesday in federal court in South Florida, the woman accused the New England Patriots wide receiver of two separate incidents of sexual assault and one incident of rape. The lawsuit claims that Brown “exploited, sexually assaulted, and raped his former trainer Britney Taylor.”

Attorneys for the star athlete released a statement countering that “Mr. Brown denies each and every allegation in the lawsuit.”

No police reports were filed concerning the alleged rape and one of the alleged sexual assaults, both of which she said happened in South Florida. Without a police report, there was no investigation and Brown was not charged.

The complaint alleges that, on the evening of May 20, 2018, Brown raped Taylor at his home.

At the time, Brown had two residences in South Florida: a condominium in Sunny Isles and a 12-bedroom mansion in Hollywood.

The Sunny Isles Police Department has no records of any incidents occurring at Brown’s condominium on or around those dates.

They do have reports documenting a break-in and an incident during which Brown allegedly threw furniture off his condominium balcony in a fit of rage, both of which happened almost a month earlier, during the last weeks of April 2018.

The Hollywood Police Department said it has no records of any incidents occurring on those dates at Brown’s mansion.

The complaint also alleges that Brown ejaculated onto Taylor’s back without her consent while they both watched a church service on an iPad at Brown’s Hollywood home. The incident allegedly occurred sometime during June 2017.

Neither the Hollywood Police Department nor the Sunny Isles Police Department have records of such an incident.

The lawsuit said the third incident of sexual assault, in which Brown allegedly exposed himself to Taylor and forcibly kissed her, occurred at the athlete’s home outside Pittsburgh. The police chief of that precinct couldn’t be reached for comment Wednesday.

Victims of sexual assault often do not report their assaults to authorities for a variety of reasons, including the trauma that such assaults might cause. However, legal experts caution that the lack of such records could make Taylor’s accusations against Brown harder to prove.

“It goes to credibility in this case,” explained Robert Jarvis, a professor of law at Nova Southeastern University. “Like any sexual assault case, there is always a problem of credibility on both sides, the victim and the perpetrator.”

Darren Heitner, an attorney representing Brown, said Taylor approached Brown in 2017 about making a $1.6 million investment in a business project. He declined.

Taylor reached out to Brown again last year, and she traveled to his residences multiple times, Heitner said.

“Mr. Brown … refuses to be the victim of what he believes to be a money grab,” Heitner said in a statement.
