Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard tickets

- By Ben Crandell

Iconic rock bands Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Poison and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts will kick off a massive summer 2020 stadium tour at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on July 7.

The second show on the 22-city nationwide tour will be July 9 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. Tickets for both shows are scheduled to go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, while fan-club and venue presales began at 10 a.m. Monday. For information, visit LiveNation.com.

The official announcement of the tour is music to the ears of the bands’ fans, who have been teased with rumors about these shows for months, only to have them batted down.

The remarkable response to Mötley Crüe’s Netflix biopic “The Dirt” made a Crüe tour seem inevitable, notwithstanding the never-again promises made on their 150-city global “final” tour, which ended in 2015.

Last month, Mötley Crüe vocalist Vince Neil tweeted: “People, these rumors are false. I haven’t spoken to any band members since [“The Dirt”] movie premiere. I had to cancel shows due to back problems which I am getting treatment now. There is no tension between me and [drummer Tommy Lee]. Don’t believe anything from these so-called gossip sites. Keep rocking.”

Poison singer Bret Michaels, on his way to South Florida for shows next weekend, posted a picture on Facebook from the press conference for the summer tour with assorted members of each of the bands, saying, “Everyone was in great spirits & this is going to be an awesome tour.”

One of rock ’n’ roll’s good guys, Michaels will perform Friday at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, then serve as grand marshal for the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade on Saturday.
