Possible link between stabbing, pedestrian death investigated
BOYNTON BEACH Authorities are investigating a possible link between two crimes that took place Thursday: a domestic violence-related knife attack in Boynton Beach and a man’s death shortly after in Boca Raton.
According to police, a woman was stabbed by a man at about 5:30 a.m. that morning in the Verona at Boynton Beach apartment complex in the 1500 block of Southwest Eighth Street. The victim, who has not been identified by police, was hospitalized in stable condition.
Less than an hour later, a pedestrian was struck by two vehicles on Interstate 95, just north of the Clint Moore Road overpass. Police
said Friday that a vehicle belonging to the suspect in the stabbing was found parked at the overpass.
Authorities said that the man who died on I-95 may also be the man who was the perpetrator of the stabbing.
Detectives are waiting for the medical examiner’s office to identify the body before they’re able to confirm the connection, Boynton Beach police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater said Friday.
It is unclear whether the drivers who hit the man remained at the scene to speak with the Florida Highway Patrol.

On Thursday, a Boynton Beach police crime scene van was among the police and FHP vehicles at the scene of the I-95 fatality. A vehicle, possibly a white Chevrolet Sonic, that was seen parked on the overpass was later towed.
The incident resulted in the closure of four of five lanes, backing up I-95 traffic past Glades Road in Boca Raton for at least two hours during Thursday’s morning rush hour.
