A man working on the StarFlyer attraction on Orlando’s International Drive tourist corridor has fallen and died, authorities say.

StarFlyer is “cooperating” with investigations into its employee’s death by the federal Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Orange County Sheriff’s Office, StarFlyer spokesman John Stine said. The attraction will remain closed until further notice, according to its Twitter account.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the team member’s family and fellow team members,” StarFlyer said.

Jacob David Kaminsky, 21, was climbing the 450-foot spinning swing ride at ICON Park to conduct a safety check when he accidentally fell around 7:40 a.m., said Orange County Sheriff ’s Cpl. AntwanDaniels.

Rescue climbers with Orange County FireRescue responded to the scene after a 911 caller said a man had fallen “50-60” feet off the tower, the department said on Twitter. StarFlyer said the maintenance employee sustained “catastrophic injuries” while conducting a daily inspection on the attraction’s interior.

OCFR took Kaminsky to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Rescue climbers also helped one uninjured worker to safety, according to OCFR.

OCSO said the investigation into theworker’s death is still ongoing. Stine said he could not release further details because of the pending probes.

StarFlyer can open before the investigations are completed, the attraction’s spokesman said.

“We will not be opening today, but we’ll look at it tomorrow,” he said.
