Lizzo, Monae named to Out100 list

Award-winning singers Lizzo and Janelle Monae, Apple CEO Tim Cook and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow have made Out magazine’s 2020 Out100 list.

Pride Media announced Thursday that its annual list honoring the 100 most influentia­l LGBTQ+ people of the year includes 99-year-old trans WWII U.S. Navy fighter pilot Robina Asti, comedian Wanda Sykes, fashion icon Andre Leon Tall, the creators of “Queer Eye,” Black Lives Matter Toronto co-founder Janaya Khan and actors Jameela Jamil, Wilson Cruz, Keke Palmer, Jeremy Pope and Joe Mantello.

Honorees will be celebrated Saturday at the 2020 Out 100 Virtual Honoree Induction Ceremony, which will streamlive­atOut.com/ Out 100 Live.

Others who made this year’s list include former baseball player Billy Bean, teen rapper Kidd Kenn and actors Li li Reinhardt, Cheyenne Jackson, Jonathan Bennett and Dashaun Wesley. Lil Baby, Ricch, Swift win Apple Music Awards:

Rapper Lil Baby has been named artist of the year at the second annual Apple Music Awards.

The rapper, who topped the charts this year with his sophomore album “My Turn” and reached the No. 3 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with “The Bigger Picture,” was handselect­ed by the streaming service’s global editorial team towin the title. The editorial team also named Taylor Swift songwriter of the year, and Megan Thee Stallion breakthrou­gh artist of the year.

Roddy Ricch, whose successful year included a Grammy win, No. 1 album and No. 1 song, won two Apple Music honors that were based on streaming data. His debut album, “Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial,” has been streamed more than 1.5 billion times on the platform andwas named top album of the year. A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed over the drowning of “Glee” actor Naya Rivera, who died this past summer while boating with her 4-year-old son on a California lake.

The suit, filed Tuesday, blames Ventura County and managers of Lake Piru for her accidental death July 8 at the lake northwest of Los Angeles. It was filed on behalf of her son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, by Ryan Dorsey, Rivera’s ex-husband and the boy’s father and guardian and also on behalf of her estate.

Rivera, 33, had rented a pontoon boat on the lake. Her son was found sleeping and alone on the drifting boat later that afternoon. Rivera’s body was found floating in a 30-foot-deep area of the lake five days later.

‘WonderWoma­n1984’ to debut in theaters and on HBO Max: “Wonder Woman1984” isn’t skipping theaters or moving to 2021, but it is altering course. The last big blockbuste­r holdout of 2020 is still opening in U.S. theaters on Christmas Day but itwill also be made available to HBO Max subscriber­s free of charge for its firstmonth, Warner Bros. said Wednesday.

The film will also debut in internatio­nal theaters Dec. 16.
