New Boca Raton skyline benefits developers, but what about residents?

-

I read with interest about the spate of new condos cropping up in Boca Raton. [“Boca Raton’s growing skyline lures residents and businesses, many from the Northeast,” March 29] Conversely, several years ago, the city blighted a tried and true local condo and accompanying facilities at Boca Teeca. The community used to have a golf course, tennis courts, restaurant and bar and an inn with rooms for cards that residents flocked to. Several years ago, the city tore down these facilities. Boca Raton residents were told a new city golf course would replace the admittedly antiquated existing golf course property. I won’t go into details, but the city then reneged on that deal. Boca Raton residents are saddened by the loss of the community facilities and the blight tearing them down left on our community.
