How to help people affected by the Surfside condo collapse.

After a 12-story oceanfront condo in Surfside partially collapsed Thursday morning, rattling a nation and leaving more than 150 people missing as of Friday, the South Florida community is banding together to provide support to the victims and their families.

Here’s a list of organizati­ons accepting donations or volunteer help for those affected by the Surfside condo collapse:

Greater Miami Jewish Federation

The federation launched an emergency fund to help families affected by the collapse. In partnershi­p with the Jewish Community Services of South Florida and Mishkan Miami: The Jewish Connection for Spiritual Support, the federation will provide financial assistance, chaplaincy support, crisis counseling and social services.

Donation checks with the notation “Surfside Building Collapse” can be mailed to: Greater Miami Jewish Federation, 4200 Biscayne Boulevard., Miami, FL 33137.

Those seeking more informatio­n about the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s special relief funds can call 305-5764000.

The Shul of Bal Harbour

The Shul of Bal Harbour is seeking donations of sweatshirt­s, phone chargers, drinks, blankets, pillows and snacks. Donations can be dropped off at Skylake Synagogue, 1850 NE 183rd St. Monetary donations can be made online at the Shul of Bal Harbour website, theshul.org.

LAHH Salon, located at 9480 Harding Ave., has also agreed to collect donations to drop off to the Shul.

Support Surfside

The Coral Gables Community Foundation, The Miami Foundation, The Key Biscayne Foundation, The Knight Foundation and The Miami Heat Charitable Fund created a hardship fund for those affected. Donate with Paypal or a credit or debit card at supportsur­fside.org.

The town of Surfside

Surfside doesn’t have an immediate need for volunteers or donations, but the town has created a volunteer form for Miami-Dade County residents interested in providing services to the families of the victims. For more informatio­n, click on the resources and volunteer registrati­on link at the top of Surfside’s website, townofsurf­sidefl. gov.

Cadena Foundation

The Cadena Foundation, a local Jewish nonprofit that provides aid for humanitari­an crises, is accepting online monetary donations at donate. cadena.ngo/give/253022.

One Blood

One Blood will host blood drives Friday at Walgreens (18665 Biscayne Blvd. in Miami) from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Regal South Beach (1661 Alton Road in Miami Beach) from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Macy’s Miami Beach (1675 Meridian Ave.) from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is at the scene providing food, water and support to families, survivors and first responders. The Miamiarea Salvation Army accepts donations online, by phone at 1-800-725-2769 and by mail at The Salvation Army P.O. Box 350370 Miami, Florida 33135-0370.

Somerset Academy Charter South Miami

From June 28 to June 30, the Somerset Academy will be hosting a donation drive for victims from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Requested items include snacks, water bottles, Gatorade, pillows, blankets, phone chargers, sweatshirt­s, travel-size toiletries and gallon-size Ziploc bags. The school is located at 5876 SW 68th St.

United Way of Miami-Dade

The United Way of Miami-Dade has establishe­d Operation Helping Hands to support affected families with short and long-term needs. Donations can be made at portal. unitedwaym­iami.org/ Surfside.
