CATCH A CLASSIC Starring Dustin Hoffman

Enjoy several of Dustin Hoffman’s finest performanc­es in tonight’s five-film lineup, four of which showcase the famed actor in Oscar-nominated or -winning roles. First is Tootsie (1982), the Best Picture-nominated satirical romantic comedy that earned Hoffman a Best Actor nomination alongside Best Supporting Actress winner Jessica Lange and Supporting Actress nominee Teri Garr. After that is Kramer vs. Kramer (1979), the Best Picture-winning legal drama that earned Hoffman a Best Actor win. The film

also stars Best Supporting Actress winner Meryl Streep, Supporting Actress nominee Jane Alexander and Supporting Actor nominee Justin Henry (who was 8 years old at the time and remains the youngest Oscar nominee in any category). Next is the film that really made Hoffman a name: The Graduate (pictured), the Best Picture-nominated 1967 romantic comedy that earned Hoffman his first Best Actor nomination alongside Best Actress nominee Anne Bancroft and Supporting Actress nominee Katharine Ross. Hoffman was also nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of the title figure of the next film, Lenny (1974), a biographic­al drama about comedian Lenny Bruce. Best Actress nominee Valerie Perrine co-stars. The Hoffman lineup concludes early Saturday with Agatha (1979), a British drama about mystery writer Agatha Christie’s (Vanessa Redgrave) 11-day disappeara­nce in 1926. Timothy Dalton also stars.
