Astronauts finish fixing leak at space station
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — Two spacewalking astronauts wrapped up a hastily planned repair job Saturday to stop an ammonia coolant leak to keep the International Space Station at full power.
NASA astronauts Chris Cassidy and Tom Marshburn installed a spare coolant pump during the four-hour job, then watched for signs of escaping ammonia ice crystals when the system was turned back on.
“No flakes,” Cassidy reported.
