Boudia wins silver in men’s 10M platform

FORT LAUDERDALE — David Boudia, of Noblesvill­e, Ind., won the silver medal in the men’s 10-meter platform in the USA Diving Grand Prix on Saturday at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex in his first meet since the 2012 Olympics.

Amanda Burke (Southhampt­on, Pa.) finished fifth in the women’s 3-meter final, scoring 258.45 points and China’s Zhang Jun (333.90) finished first.

China’s Zhang Yanquan won the gold medal in the 10-meter with 521.00 points, edging out Boudia (518.60) for first. Ukraine’s Oleksandr Bondar (507.50) took third. Zhang won gold at the 2012 Olympics in the men’s synchroniz­ed 10-meter platform. In the men’s synchroniz­ed 3-meter program, 2008 Olympic bronze medalists Oleksiy Prygorov and Illya Kvasha, of Ukraine, took the silver with 428.37 points. The meet concludes Sunday.
