Boudia wins silver in men’s 10M platform
FORT LAUDERDALE — David Boudia, of Noblesville, Ind., won the silver medal in the men’s 10-meter platform in the USA Diving Grand Prix on Saturday at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex in his first meet since the 2012 Olympics.
Amanda Burke (Southhampton, Pa.) finished fifth in the women’s 3-meter final, scoring 258.45 points and China’s Zhang Jun (333.90) finished first.
China’s Zhang Yanquan won the gold medal in the 10-meter with 521.00 points, edging out Boudia (518.60) for first. Ukraine’s Oleksandr Bondar (507.50) took third. Zhang won gold at the 2012 Olympics in the men’s synchronized 10-meter platform. In the men’s synchronized 3-meter program, 2008 Olympic bronze medalists Oleksiy Prygorov and Illya Kvasha, of Ukraine, took the silver with 428.37 points. The meet concludes Sunday.
