Several attraction­s offer free admission formother’s Day

To help moms enjoy Mother’sDay, some local attraction­s today are offering them free admission. Take, for example, Butterfly World at 3600W. Sample Road in Coconut Creek (954-977-4434), where adult entry regularly costs $24.95.

“Anywoman who identifies themselves as a mom, whether they are 20 or 120, is given free admission and wishedHapp­yMother’s Day,” states ButterflyW­orld. com. “This is ourway of giving them the royal treatment they deserve and spreading joy at the same time.”

Elsewhere, moms accompanie­d by someone paying regular admission pay nothing today to roam the sprawling tree-shaded grounds and house of BonnetHous­eMuseum& Gardens, 900N. Birch Road, Fort Lauderdale (954-563-5393). That’s a nice savings, as normal admission is $20 per adult, $17 for Broward residents with ID.

Mothers also get in free today at Flamingo Gardens, 3750 S. Flamingo Road in Davie (954-473-2955), so long as they’re accompanie­d by someone paying regular admission.

In addition, the Miami Children’sMuseum (305-373-5437) offers free admission today to moms. So does the Miami Science Museum (305-646-4200), so long as they’re accompanie­d by a child who pays regular price.

Everyone gets in free this coming Saturday to visit the Boca RatonMuseu­m of Art, 501 Plaza Real (561-392-2500), where adult admission normally costs $8. The freebie is in honor of Internatio­nalMuseumD­ay. Also gratis is its 2 p.m. showing that day of a documentar­y on social artist Jose Clemente Orozco called “Orozco: Man of Fire.”
