Frozen treats beat the heat

Frozen yogurt is the star of Outshine Yogurt Bars from Nestle. So is the nutrition. Each of the bars boasts 5 grams of protein. Strawberry, peach, blueberry, pineapple, mango and strawberry-banana weigh in at 90 calories each; lemon has just 80. Tasters enjoyed the bars’ cool creaminess, fruity flavor and classic yogurt tang. A box of four: $4.39. Locate a store: www.outshinesnacks.com.

Purely juiced for sipping

You could sip any of the pineapple juice blends from Del Monte’s new Pure Earth line straight from the bottle. But we also like their potential as mixers for smoothies or adult cocktails. Or simply brighten them by adding sparkling water. The flavors: pineapple, pineapple lime, pineapple banana coconut and pineapple blueberry blackberry. We favored the pineapple lime for its tart tempering of the pineapple’s sweetness and the richly flavored berry blend. Available in 12-ounce bottles ($2.69) and 32-ounce bottles ($5.49). At supermarkets nationwide. www.fruits.com/products/pureearth.

Graham crackers go gluten-free

Many cool summer desserts use graham crackers: ice cream sandwiches, s’mores, pie crusts. If you avoid gluten, then gluten-free Cinnamon Grahams, Honey Grahams and Chocolate Grahams from Pamela’s should make your sweet eating a lot easier. Made with rice flours, we especially enjoyed the cinnamon and honey versions for their good snap, fine flavor and potential as a cheesecake crust. There are also snack-size mini versions. A 7.5-ounce box: $4.99. Buy online or locate a store: www.pamelasproducts.com.
