Pierre Senatus steps down as Miramar’s football coach one day after National Signing Day.

Pierre Senatus, after two seasons, has stepped down as coach at Miramar.

Announcing his resignation on Twitter on Thursday, Senatus, 39, of Miami, thanked players, parents and school officials.

Senatus’ brief tenure followed the even shorter stint of Matt Strout, whose wideranging allegations of wrongdoing against the program in 2014 prompted a Broward County Public Schools investigation that remains ongoing.

Senatus said he met with the administration at the school earlier Thursday amid a “fallout that has been ongoing.”

“There’s been some difference of opinion. Things have not been smooth or perfect in any regard — nothing negative, just two different philosophies and styles haven’t meshed,” said Senatus, who went 12-8 as Miramar coach after coming over from Miami Booker T. Washington, where he served as an assistant. “We’re not seeing eye-to-eye, so I don’t feel comfortable continuing to put energy into it at this point.”

Senatus added he is looking at “a couple of opportunities.”

“I need to go in a different direction.”

The Patriots missed the playoffs for the third straight season— a rarity for Miramar football. Miramar’s streak of playoff berths dating from the 2007 season was snapped in 2014, when the school vacated its playoff opener after admitting to grade-fixing and improper benefits stemming from the Strout allegations.

Senatus resigned a day after the Patriots sent 12 football players to college on scholarship in a National Signing Day ceremony at the school.

Defensive back Brian Edwards signed with Florida, while cornerback Kaheem Roach submitted his letter of intent for Louisville and offensive lineman Sebastien Dolcine for Kentucky. Receiver Anthony Needham signed with UCF and defensive end Devin Adams with Delaware State.
