Business Hall of Fame adds three honorees
Real estate, tech CEOs selected
Local CEO Per-Olof Lööf, former Citrix Systems CEO Mark Templeton, and real estate developer Jorge M. Pérez have been named Hall of Fame members by the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business & Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University.
“The honorees are accomplished leaders who have had influence and impact on our community,” said J. Preston Jones, dean of the business college in Davie.
The three will be recognized at an invitation-only awards event on April 26 at the Signature Grand in Davie.
Lööf is the CEO of Kemet Corp. and chairman of NEC Tokin Corp., a joint venture between NEC and Kemet, global manufacturers of electronic components with 16,000 employees and operations in more than 30 countries. The companies have offices in Fort Lauderdale, Greenville, S.C.; and Tokyo.
Lööf is also past president and CEO of anti-theft tag developer Sensormatic Electronics in Boca Raton. He led the organization through a turnaround and managed its acquisition by Tyco International in 2001 for $2.3 billion.
Templeton retired in 2015 as president and CEO of Fort Lauderdale-based software company Citrix Systems. At Citrix, Templeton championed a vision for a virtual workplace that enable new ways for people to work and live better. Under Templeton’s leadership, Citrix grew from a $15 million company with a single product to a global software industry leader with annual revenues of more than $3 billion and with more than 100 million users worldwide.
Today, Templeton is cofounder and executive chairman of 4Sense, a human motion analytics company.
Pérez is chairman and chief executive officer of Related Group of Florida, developer of residential projects and one of the largest multifamily real estate development firm in Florida. Related has assets under development worth more than $10 billion.
“Under Pérez’s direction, the company has redefined the South Florida landscape, building and/or managing more than 60,000 apartments and condominium residences,” NSU noted in its news release.
One must be a successful entrepreneur or business person to be considered for NSU’s Business and Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame, said Julie Spechler, spokeswoman for NSU. She said while there is no requirement for a Hall of Fame inductee to donate to the private university, many Hall of Fame members “have been generous in their giving both to NSU and to the community.”
