Police seek help in Lauderhill killing

- By Linda Trischitta Staff writer

Keith Pinnock steps out of his white Mercedes sedan with friend Neil Buchanan and a woman friend at a Lauderhill apartment complex. A mysterious dark car pulls up and, after a muzzle flash from a handgun, Pinnock, 30, falls dead.

The violence was captured in surveillance video that Lauderhill police released Friday.

At least two men got out of the car and one of them also wounded Buchanan, 30, Lauderhill Police Major Rick Rocco said. The woman ran off and also survived. To protect her, police are not releasing her name.

“The motive is unknown,” Rocco said about the shootings. Investigators are hoping that someone who knows something will say something to authorities. Pinnock’s homicide happened in the first hour of Saturday, March 11 and remains unsolved. He fell next to his car that was parked in front of the leasing office at Inverrary 441 Apartments, at 1194 N. State Road 7, Rocco said.

As the gunman’s second target, Buchanan leaps over a hedge and runs away, the video shows. One of the suspects runs after him while the gunman circles back past the Mercedes to his waiting car and leaves. Buchanan can then be seen walking back to the scene.

The agency asks anyone with information about the homicide case to call Detective Chad Williams at 954-717-4615 or Broward County Crime Stoppers, at 954-493-8477. That organization will accept anonymous tips and will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
