Suspect confronts judge

A man accused in two shootings outside a Deerfield Beach nightclub made his first court appearance Wednesday, choosing to represent himself — and arguing with the judge.

And it was revealed that when the suspect, Demetrius Vidale, was earlier given a signed search warrant, he put it on a chair and defecated on it, according to his arrest report.

Vidale, 24, shot and robbed clubgoer Jordan Harris, and shot at Broward Sheriff ’s deputy Derrick Nesbitt early Monday morning, according to the report.

Inmates waiting behind Vidale appear confused and one chuckles at the spectacle.

Gottlieb then reads off Vidale’s charges of attempted murder, attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, armed robbery, driving with a suspended license and obstructing law enforcement as Vidale asks the judge what the court’s and judge’s jurisdiction is.

Vidale goes on to tell the judge his client has been assaulted, kidnapped and held against his will.
