Celebrity unveils newest luxury liner.

A modern-day interpretation of the Garden of Eden is set to debut aboard Celebrity Cruises’ newest cruise ship — Celebrity Edge — arriving at Port Everglades late next year.

The new three-deck venue, dubbed Eden, is a blend of “iconic design, culinary and entertainment” that’s expected to be “chillful, playful and sinful,” Celebrity said Tuesday in a news release.

“Eden is about connecting people to nature, being inspired by nature and bringing nature to life,” Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, Celebrity’s president and CEO, told the Sun Sentinel before unveiling the venue at New York’s Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Celebrity Edge represents the first new class of ship for the Celebrity line in a decade. The public heralding of a new ship’s bells and whistles such as Eden is a typical practice among cruise lines to shore up advance bookings.

Located in the back of the ship, Eden will be encased in nearly 7,000 square feet of glass walls for unobstructed views of the water.

“Connectivity to the ocean is one of the most exciting hallmarks of Edge Class, and with more glass than any other room at sea, Eden embodies that outward-facing concept beautifully,” said Richard D. Fain, chairman and CEO of Celebrity’s parent company, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., in the release.

In the mornings, Eden will be a tranquil lounge space for guests to relax for coffee, read a book or do yoga. The afternoons will be more active with enrichment seminars
