3 arrested in West Park block party shooting
Three men accused of shooting into a crowd at a block party in West Park have been arrested, authorities said.
A man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound that was life threatening. His name has been withheld by police, said Joy Oglesby, a spokeswoman for the Broward Sheriff ’s Office.
The shooting happened about 2:50 a.m. Saturday near Southwest 48th Avenue and 20th Street, Oglesby said.
The trio parked a darkcolored vehicle near the intersection and approached the party.
Cambrell Smart, 23, of Hollywood, fired the first shot into the air, Oglesby said.
Smart and Braxton Davis, 22, of Fort Lauderdale, then fired into the crowd at the outdoor party, Oglesby said.
Smart, Davis and Tony Hall, 26, of Hallandale Beach, were arrested Monday, Oglesby said. Each has been charged with attempted murder.
All three men are being held in the Broward Main Jail without bond, records show.

The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission announced last week that it has begun accepting applications from local governments for “Bear-Wise” funding to help communities lock up garbage and keep bears out of neighborhoods.
The agency handed out $825,000 last year but has just $515,000 to distribute this year.
