OAKLAND PARK — Broward County eastsiders, get ready to shop for affordable organic groceries while sipping craft brews when Lucky’s Market opens in Oakland Park in late August.

The natural and organic grocery chain will open its third South Florida location at 1033 E. Oakland Park Blvd. on Aug. 30, according to the city of Oakland Park. There are stores in Coral Springs and Plantation.

The new store, which will occupy the long-vacant Pearl Art & Craft building, will employ about 150 people, the company said. The store is part of the city’s culinary arts district, which includes the Funky Buddah brewery.

“The city of Oakland Park is very pleased to welcome Lucky’s to our Downtown Culinary Arts District,” said Kathleen Margoles, development director for the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency. “The organic market is a great complement to our restaurants that offer fresh and local ingredients in their menus. We look forward to working with Lucky’s Market on future culinary endeavors.”

The Colorado-based grocer has a fun, festive vibe and encourages customers to sip and stroll with beer or wine while jamming to live or classic rock music. The hip concept is a cross between a brewery and farmer’s market and the best of several grocery chains packed into one 30,000-square-foot store.

Craft brews will include Oakland Park’s Funky Buddha Floridian for $2 per pint, along with a selection of wines for $3 per
