A pair of Chaminade-Madonna football prospects have made their college decisions.

Rising junior Cameron Williams committed to Florida, while senior receiver Logan Giordano pledged to Eastern Michigan this weekend.

Williams, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound defensive end, committed Saturday while on campus in Gainesville for the Gators’ Friday Night Lights camp. The recent Nova transfer bolsters a strong UF 2019 recruiting class that’s currently ranked No. 1 in the nation by 247Sports.com. Williams joins American Heritage Delray WR John Dunmore as one of the Gators’ eight commits in the class.

Giordano, another offseason transfer, chose Eastern Michigan over Miami (Ohio), Valdosta State and Ohio University. At 5-11, 170 pounds, Giordano helped lead Archbishop McCarthy to a Gold Coast Conference title last season and was an All-County second-team selection in 2016.

Schwartz, Garner announce top 6

American Heritage WR Anthony Schwartz and Dillard cornerback Stanley Garner could be close to college decisions as both released their top six schools.

A four-star prospect, Schwartz narrowed his choices to Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee, Southern Cal and LSU. One of the area’s fastest recruits, Schwartz is the nation’s 143rd overall prospect, per 247Sports.

A dual-sport star, Schwartz also earned Track Athlete of the Year honors last spring after clocking a 10.15 in the 100 at the Florida Relays for the sixth-fastest finish all-time. Currently the nation’s top 100 sprinter, he recently won the event at the New Balance Nationals and was second (to Miami American’s Tyrese Cooper) in the 200. At the Pan American Junior Championships last weekend, Schwartz ran the lead leg for a US men’s 4x100 relay team that won gold.

Garner, a three-star recruit who’s listed at 6-3 and 180 pounds, has Tennessee, Michigan, Clemson, Alabama, Louisville and Kentucky as his favorites.

St. Thomas, Heritage ranked

Reigning football state champs St. Thomas Aquinas and American Heritage both cracked MaxPreps’ preseason list of early national title contenders. The Raiders sit at No. 5, while the Patriots are No. 12.

St. Thomas is coming off a 13-2 season, capped by its third consecutive Class 7A championship. The Raiders, whose only losses came to Booker T. Washington and Nevada’s Bishop Gorman, finished 2016 as the nation’s 6th-ranked team.

American Heritage is aiming for its fourth state title in five years after finishing a perfect 14-0 last season en route to Florida’s the Class 5A title. The Patriots ended 2016 ranked 10th nationally in Patrick Surtain’s first season as head coach.

Robinson on the move

After one season at Alabama, Deerfield Beach alum Aaron Robinson is leaving Tuscaloosa to transfer elsewhere. The 6-foot-1 cornerback, who played primarily on special teams as a freshman, on Tuesday, took an unofficial visit to UCF, according to 247Sports.

A three-star recruit coming out of high school, Robinson originally committed to Florida, but flipped to the Crimson Tide on National Signing Day.
