Culinary
Noel Morreale has been named vice president of food and beverage at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek. Morreale will oversee all food and beverage operations connected to the property’s restaurants and bars, which include 12 departments, 73 managers and 700 team members. He joined the business in 2014 as general manager for the NYY Steakhouse. Morreale started his career as a sous chef for Station Casinos, working his way up to assistant beverage manager and beverage manager before joining Morton’s as a restaurant manager. He rejoined Station Casinos as a steakhouse general manager before opening his own restaurants.

Shapiro, Blasi, Wasserman & Hermann announced that Ryan Gesten has joined the firm as a senior attorney. He specializes in commercial and business litigation.
Oscar Grisales-Racini has joined Fowler White Burnett’s Miami office as a shareholder in the firm’s tax, trust & estates, mergers & acquisitions and private equity/venture capital practice groups. Additionally, Charles S. Davant has joined the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office as a shareholder in the maritime practice group.
The Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel has awarded the 2017 Joseph R. Olshan Award to Francisco Ramos Jr., administrative partner of the law firm Clarke Silverglate P.A. The award is named in memory of long-time member and Executive Director Joe Olshan, and is presented annually to the chair of one of the organization’s committees whose work has made the most outstanding contribution to the advancement of the FDCC’s goals and who epitomizes Olshan’s organizational skills and dedication. The FDCC is composed of legal community leaders who have achieved professional distinction and is dedicated to promoting the knowledge, fellowship and professionalism of its members as they represent those in need of a defense in civil lawsuits.

Lang Realty recently named Elizabeth Lewis business development director in Boca Raton. Lewis specializes in digital marketing, including social media, demographically targeted advertising and geolocated mobile ads. TMT Properties named
Joseph Maas as director of operations. Maas initially joined TMT Properties in January 2017 as a senior property manager, managing the retail/office division of the company.

Jan Cairnes, executive director of Hanley Foundation, was recently named to the boards for both the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce and the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association.

Recognition
The Miami Dolphins have
selected NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises Chairman, Cesar Conde, as the recipient of the NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award. The NFL and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) have partnered for the seventh annual NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Awards during the 2017 celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The awards recognize the contributions of Hispanic leaders in each NFL market. As chairman, Conde oversees NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, a group of media properties serving Hispanics in the U.S.
Mona Straub, owner of the pet accessory company Just Fur Fun in Boca Raton, has been nominated for the second consecutive year as a finalist for the Women in the Pet Industry Network’s Woman of the Year Award. Straub is being recognized in the Solopreneur category. The recognition highlights industry women who seek to better the lives of large and small pets. Straub volunteers with the Dachshund Rescue of South Florida, Ride for the Animals, Humane Society of Broward County’s Walk for the Animals, Animal Haven Animal Shelter, TriCounty Humane Society, and Little Smiles.
Michael Haggard of The Haggard Law Firm in Coral Gables has been awarded the 2017 Perry Nichols Award, given by the Florida Justice Association, recognizing attorneys who set standards for others to aspire to achieve.
