Frost says he hasn’t heard from UF

- Shannon Green

UCF football coach said he has not been contacted by UF officials about their vacancy following the departure of head coach Sunday.

Frost, 42, was asked Monday about the rumors swirling he is a potential candidate for the Gators job after catapulting the No. 15 Knights to a 7-0 record.

“I haven’t heard from anybody. Those things might be hard for you guys to ignore, but they’re really easy for me to ignore,” Frost said. “I show up to work and watch film and get practice ready and go out and do my best to get everybody ready and I don’t pay any attention to it.

“It would be a crime for me to do that with the sacrifices that our team and coaching staff made and the type of season that these guys are putting together. They deserve my 100 percent focus and they have it.” UCF is facing a big test at SMU (6-2) Saturday. “I’m thrilled that I work for the guy I work for. I think

has given us everything that we need to be successful and he’s trying to give us more,” Frost said. “This place has been even better than what I thought it was coming in and I thought this place had unlimited potential. I can’t believe how fast these kids and coaches have gone to work and gotten this this turned around.”
