Modern mansion sprawls over five acres
Boca home features six-stall barn, riding ring
Addison Mizner was the visionary architect behind the development of Boca Raton and his Mediterranean-styled theme can be found throughout the city.
But homeowners Sharon and Leonard Sokolow were looking for something different, according to Geoff Braboy, of Balistreri Real Estate.
The Sokolows bought the property located at 19783 116th Ave. S. in 2004 for $1.65 million, according to Palm Beach County property records.
Braboy said the couple demolished the existing home and built the current modern masterpiece that stands there today.
“This home was really ahead of its time for this area,” said Braboy.
Along with David Gunther, Sokolow is helping the couple sell the mansion with a price tag of $3,478,788.
The 8,285-square-foot estate features six bedrooms, eight-and-a-half bathrooms and sits on a secluded five-acre lot.
The living room and dining room boast 24-foot ceilings that open up the space. But both rooms retain a cozy feel.
The estate has a media room, gym, reading room, three-car garage and pool. There is also a spiral staircase that leads to a private rooftop terrace.
But what makes this home so unique is outside – a six-stall barn, two separate paddocks and an equestrian riding ring.
“According to the research we've done, there are only 58 five-plus acre residential properties in Boca Raton,” said Braboy.
“While common in places like Southwest Ranches or Wellington, this is very hard to find in Boca.”
Braboy said that there’s plenty of space for new owners to add any type of amenities they want.
“The property has gotten some attention from some local professional athletes,” he said. “There is enough room to build tennis or basketball courts, or even a football field if you wanted to.”
