MIAMI — There have been few wins to celebrate so far this season at Marlins Park.

The Marlins are promising some tangible reasons for attending the sixgame homestand beginning Friday – goodies and giveaways.

The opener of the three-game series against the Colorado Rockies is a Modelo Burger & Beer Friday, providing the food, beverage and ticket starting at $30.

The weekend series will culminate Sunday with a Marlins Cafecito cup giveaway, with fans receiving the cup and saucer courtesy of Leon Medical Centers.

Sunday also a family four-pack of tickets in the Home Run Porch section, Nathan’s hot dogs and Aquafina waters or Pepsi for $84.

Saturday is Puerto Rican Heritage Night, which will highlight musical influences from the island nation.

Puerto Rican reggaaeton artist Bad Bunny will throw the ceremonial first pitch, Puerto Rican vocalist José Arroyo will sing the Puerto Rican National Anthem, the Marlins Pachanga band will play in the stands (fans are encouraged to bring hand-held instruments to play along), and the night will end with a postgame Parranda at The 5th Base tent adjacent to the West Plaza featuring a live performance by Puerto Rican group Plena Es.

The promotions are part of the objective Marlins CEO Derek Jeter’s stated prior to the season: “We want our in-game experience for our fans to be first-class. We want them to enjoy themselves. We’re trying to embrace the culture here in Miami. It’s a city where people like to have fun. We want them to have fun when they come to the game.”

15 seconds of fame

In another fan attraction, the 15 Seconds of Fame technology is now available for every game at Marlins Park. Anyone that appears on the videoboard or on the TV broadcast can get their moment sent directly to their phone. Download the app at www.15sof.com.

The technology was used at Marlins Park last July for the Futures Game, Home Run Derby and All-Star Game.
