DAVIE — Wednesday was Day 6 of Miami Dolphins training camp, and this is how it looked:

Stock up

OLB Kiko Alonso had a pick-6 at the goal line on a QB Ryan Tannehill pass during a red-zone drill. It was Tannehill’s second interception of training camp. ...

DT Vincent Taylor burst through the line, causing a 2-yard loss on a run by RB Brandon Radcliff during an 11-on-11 drill. Coach Adam Gase said Taylor has showed improvement since last year, his rookie season. ...

The defense continued to harass the offense, but this time it was common in the red zone. Alonso had his interception and RB Kenyan Drake had a fumble. This wasn’t just among defensive starters. Backup MLB Quentin Poling and backup DT Jamiyus Pittman also had sacks.

Stock down

Drake had the fumble near the goal line. The ball squirted around for a few seconds — DE Cameron Wake and LG Josh Sitton both had a chance to recover — before WR Kenny Stills scooped it up for about a 10-yard loss. It was a rare miscue by Drake, who has had a nice camp and is in no danger of losing his starting job . ...

Discipline has been lacking on both sides of the ball when it comes to penalties, especially pre-snap penalties. Gase, whose team had false starts, offsides and pass interference calls Wednesday, said of the penalties, “There’s been good days and there’s been a couple of days where it’s been beyond frustrating.”

Camp observations

WR DeVante Parker had a nice reception in a passing drill on a high pass in the back of the end zone from Tannehill. But the defense probably got the best of the offense overall in that redzone drill early in practice . ...

RT Ja’Wuan James didn’t participate in 11-on-11 drills because of what Gase called a “muscle strain.” Gase said the team is just being cautious . ...

Sitton resumed playing 11-on-11s with the starters Wednesday after sitting out those segments Monday. Gase said the team wants to limit full-pads practices for the 32-year-old Sitton, who is in his 11th season . ...

OT Sam Young showed his versatility by going with the first team at RT, replacing James, and the second team at LT. Young will likely be the “swing” OT, meaning he’s the primary backup up at both positions, just as he did last year, when the season starts . ...

OG Ted Larsen showed similar versatility. He started for Sitton at LG on Monday, and resumed his normal backup RG role Wednesday . ...

MLB Chase Allen, who has good speed, got a few snaps at first team OLB with alongside MLB Raekwon McMillan and Alonso on Wednesday. Allen hasn’t had many looks at OLB . ...

Tannehill underthrew Stills on a deep pass down sideline, allowing CB Xavien Howard to catch up and knock away a sure touchdown. It was one of the few likely TDs Tannehill has blown during camp . ...

S Minkah Fitzpatrick had a nice pass breakup vs. WR Jakeem Grant on a pass from QB David Fales. Fitzpatrick was late turning his head around but recovered well enough to make the play near goal line . ...

Ken Dorsey, the former University of Miami standout and NFL QB who is now an assistant athletic director at FIU, attended Dolphins practice Wednesday . ...

Former NFL WR Isaac Bruce, who attended Dillard High, also attended practice.

Injury update

WR Isaiah Ford (left shoulder) didn’t practice. Ford wore a red jersey in previous practices but it didn’t help much because he dove for receptions and defensive backs still hit him. ...

TE A.J. Derby (foot) missed his third consecutive practice . ...

C-G Jake Brendel (calf ) missed his fifth practice in a row.
