CORAL GABLES — A day after he was missing from the media viewing portion of practice and Miami said he was undergoing evaluation by the school’s medical staff, Miami Hurricanes quarterback Jarren Williams was back on the practice field.

Williams, a four-star prospect out of Georgia, was working with his fellow quarterbacks Malik Rosier, N’Kosi Perry and Cade Weldon on Wednesday morning. The quarterback, who has been taking reps with the No. 4 unit throughout camp, was seen throwing passes and participated in all the drills during the 15-minute window of practice open to reporters.

That was not the case on Tuesday when Williams was not seen on the field during media viewing or after practice. Miami later said Williams was a limited participant in practice that day as he was being evaluated.

With Williams back on the field, Miami’s quarterback rotation remained the same as it has throughout the first 10 days of practice with Rosier, a redshirt senior who was named the starter entering camp, taking the No. 1 snaps, N’Kosi Perry, a redshirt freshman, behind him at No. 2, Weldon, redshirt freshman, at No. 3 and Williams at No. 4.

Working with the quarterbacks during a portion of Wednesday’s practice was Miami’s tight ends unit, which was last week impacted by injury when junior Michael Irvin II had knee surgery after getting hurt.

With Irvin expected to miss up to four months, the Hurricanes have turned to their youngsters to fill the void and on Wednesday, freshman Brevin Jordan was seen catching passes from Rosier, while fellow freshman Will Mallory and sophomore Brian Polendey were alternating reps at the No. 2 tight end spot.

When the Hurricanes shifted into two-tight end sets, Jordan and Mallory worked together with Rosier, while Polendey was paired with walk-on tight end Nicholas Ducheine . ...

The Hurricanes have seemingly settled on a starting offensive line unit, with the same group that wrapped up spring drills still working together through the first 10 days of camp.

On that line are left tackle Tyree St. Louis, Jahair Jones at left guard, Tyler Gauthier at center, Hayden Mahoney at right guard and Navaughn Donaldson at right tackle.

With reserve George Brown Jr. out and scheduled for surgery to repair an MCL injury in his right knee, the Hurricanes No. 2 line on Wednesday featured DJ Scaife at left tackle, Venzell Boulware at left guard, Corey Gaynor at center, Cleveland Reed at right guard and Kai-Leon Herbert at right tackle.
