Dodgers: LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu pitched six scoreless innings and tied a career high with three of the Dodgers’ 16 hits and the NL West leaders beat the Padres 14-0 in Los Angeles. The Dodgers’ division lead over the Rockies remained at 11⁄2 games. Ryu allowed four hits, struck out eight and walked none. Matt Kemp went 3-for-4 with a HR and three RBIs and scored twice.

Rockies: LHP Kyle Freeland pushed his unbeaten streak to 10 starts, and the Rockies beat the host Diamondbac­ks 2-0. With the three-game sweep, the Rockies kept pace with the Dodgers in the NL West and stayed within striking distance of the Cardinals in the wild-card hunt.

Cubs: Kyle Schwarber had a HR and two RBIs, RHP Kyle Hendricks allowed just one run in 72⁄3 innings and the visiting Cubs beat the White Sox 6-1 to lower their magic number for winning the NL Central to five . ... 3B Kris Bryant didn’t play due to fatigue in his left shoulder. He was on the DL from July 26 to Sept. 1 with left shoulder inflammati­on, and missed time earlier in the season with the same issue.

Brewers: Christian Yelich hit his 32nd HR to help the Brewers rout the Pirates 13-6 in Pittsburgh. The Brewers stayed with 1 ⁄ games of the first-place Cubs in the NL Central and stayed two games ahead of the Cardinals for the first NL wild card.

■ Cardinals: Matt Carpenter hit his NL-best 36th HR and the host Cards beat the Giants 9-2 to cap a three-game sweep. The Cards, whose win eliminated the Pirates from playoff contention, stayed 1 ⁄ games ahead of the Rockies

2 for the second NL wild card.

Astros: RHP Charlie Morton left the AL West-leading Astros’ 6-2 home win over the Angels after one inning because of discomfort in his pitching shoulder. Morton recently did a short DL stint with the same issue. He’s not expected to miss his next start.

Athletics: The A’s failed to clinch at least a wild-card berth and fell 41⁄2 games behind the Astros in the AL West with a 5-1 loss to the visiting Twins.
