Trulieve is set to open its third medical marijuana dispensary in South Florida today.

Doors will open at 10 a.m. at 1534 SW Eighth St. in Boynton Beach.

The licensed medical marijuana provider based near Tallahassee operates 17 other dispensaries in the state, including two Miami locations: at 4020 NW 26th St. and 9600 SW 77th Ave., near Dadeland Mall. It is affiliated with Hackney Nursery, also near Tallahassee.

The Florida dispensary business is part of Trulieve Cannabis Corp., a publicly traded company whose stock is duly traded on the Canadian Securities Exchange and the OTC market.

Toronto-based Schyan Exploration, formerly a mining company, combined with Trulieve to become Trulieve Cannabis Corp., and went public on Sept. 25, according to a news release. The company is led by University of Florida graduate and lawyer Kim Rivers.

Products at the dispensary will include vaporizers, vape pens, capsules, concentrates and liquid extracts.

The dispensary has completed permitting from the city, according to a company spokeswoman.

Trulieve said it planning to open a dispensary at 520 Stirling Road in Dania Beach, as soon as permits with that city are completed.

To buy a product at any medical marijuana dispensary, a Florida resident must meet certain medical conditions and be enrolled on the Florida medical marijuana registry by a certified physician. A qualified doctor can be found through the Florida Office of Medical Marijuana Use.
