Va. governor should not have to resign

Sun Sentinel Palm Beach Edition - - OPINION -

I don’t understand how wearing a costume of a rapper could be considered racist.

When a child wears a superhero or princess costume, it does not mean that the child hates superheroes or princesses. It usually means the opposite. People want to dress up as someone they idolize.

I do understand how someone could be offended by a KKK costume; however, I don’t think a person’s bad decisions from 40 years ago should be considered today when applying for a job or running for office.

These actions from 1980 may have been stupid, but almost everyone has made some bad decisions, especially when young.

Even if a person was a racist in 1980, that does not mean that person has the same opinions today. If all the bad decisions we made when young were held against us today, no one would qualify for any job or public office.
