- By Johnny Diaz

A radio network focused on news and entertainment for the gay community is coming to South Florida.

“Channel Q” talk radio debuts Monday on WPOW-FM’s digital channel 96.5 HD2.

The national LGBT network will feature morning talk hosts Jai Rodriguez (of the original “Queer Eye” makeover series) and Mikalah Gordon (a former “American Idol” contestant) from 6 to 10 a.m. weekdays talking about pop culture and entertainment. Another show called “Dumb Gay Politics + Everything Else” will be hosted by Julie Goldman and Brandy Howard from Bravo’s former series “The People’s Couch.” There are also shows focused on music and dating advice.

“‘CHANNEL Q’ began as a passion project for our team in Los Angeles and we are thrilled to see the great reception it has received from coast to coast,” said Jeff Federman, senior vice president and market manager of Entercom Southern California which launched the gay radio network last year and is also expanding it to Boston, Chicago, Hartford and New York this spring.

To find the channel in South Florida, listeners will need to “turn the dial” one station up from Power 96.5 HD1 to find 96.5 HD2 on HD-capable radios, which pick up digital signals over a traditional radio frequency. The program can also be heard online at wearechannelq.radio.com or by downloading the station’s app.
