NSU honors 3 S. Florida business executives
South Florida top executives Rita Case, Rob Kornahrens and Arlene Pecora will be inducted April 11 into Nova Southeastern University and Huizenga Business College’s “Business Hall of Fame,” NSU has announced.
George Hanbury, president of NSU, said the 2019 honorees each have accomplishments that “will inspire the next generation of business leaders.”
Case is president and chief operating officer of Rick Case Automotive Group, which has 16 car and truck dealerships in three states with more than $1 billion in sales. Co-owner and husband Rick Case was previously inducted into NSU’s Business Hall of Fame. The Cases are noted for their philanthropic and community support that include NSU, the
Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, Habitat for Humanity, and the American Heart Association.
Kornahrens serves as CEO and president of Advanced Roofing, a commercial roofing contractor based in Fort Lauderdale. He has been awarded the Habitat for Humanity Spirit of Humanity Award, the Junior Achievement Laureate and the Fort Lauderdale Alliance Education Award. At NSU, Kornahrens serves on the Dean’s Development Council in NSU’s Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography.
Pecora is president and chief operating officer of Signature Grand, a venue for weddings, special events, charity galas and business meetings in Davie. She also has served on nonprofit boards and committees in Broward County, including Women in Distress, Community Foundation of Broward County and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance. She also is a twotime NSA graduate, with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management in 1999 and an MBA in 2001.
All three are among business leaders in Broward and Palm Beach counties who have been recipients of the Sun Sentinel Co.’s Excalibur Award.
