Passenger killed when car ran stop sign, police say
BOYNTON BEACH – A woman riding in a car being driven by a Fort Lauderdale man died when the car went through a stop sign and struck an SUV, according to Boynton Beach police.
The crash happened about 4:45 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Southeast Fourth Avenue and South Seacrest Boulevard.
According to police, a red 2010 Honda Civic being driven by Ronald Olson III, 38, “failed to stop” at the intersection’s stop sign and hit a silver, 2015 GMC Arcadia that was northbound on South Seacrest Boulevard.
The Honda then hit a concrete wall. The front seat passenger, Robin Kirsch, 37, was taken to Delray Medical Center where she died, police said. Olson was treated at a hospital three children in the Honda were also taken to the hospital.
The SUV involved in the crash flipped over but then came to rest on its wheels. Its driver was not hurt, but a child was taken to a hospital.
Information on the conditions of the children was not available. The crash remains under investigation.
