■ Red Sox: U.S. prosecutors said one suspect in the shooting of former Red Sox superstar David Ortiz is believed to be wanted in Pennsylvania for attempted homicide, while the father of another suspect said that his son belongs to a notorious Dominican gang of drug-dealing hitmen. Berks County District Attorney John Adams said that he believes Luis Rivas-Clase to be the suspect wanted for a Reading, Pennsylvania, shooting in April 2018, although confirmation would have to come through a fingerprint match. Authorities in the Dominican Republic say Rivas-Clase is still at large. Ortiz was shot in the back at a bar in the Dominican Republic on Sunday. Dominican officials announced Wednesday that they had detained the suspected gunman and five accomplices. Ortiz is now in a Boston hospital recovering from surgery in both the Dominican Republic and Boston. Meanwhile, the father of another suspect said his son is a member of gang of hired assassins and low-level drug dealers known as the Gilberts. The father, Nisdean Mirabal, told a local television morning show that he had severed relations with his son, Oliver Moises Mirabal Acosta.

■ Twins: Nelson Cruz homered and had three RBIs, and utility INF Ehire Adrianza’s hustle keyed a six-run sixth in a 10-5 victory over the Mariners. Cruz, who played for the Mariners from 2015-18 before joining the Twins as a free agent, homered in the third and added a two-run single in the sixth when Adrianza helped key the rally. Twins starter Michael Pineda limited the Mariners to two hits in 52⁄3 innings and left the game with two on and a 1-0 lead. The Mariners’ Daniel Vogelbach singled against Twins reliever Ryan Harper to tie it, the run charged to Pineda. Harper (2-0), a 30-year-old rookie who pitched into the seventh, was the beneficiary of the Twins’ rally.

■ Yankees: Kendrys Morales was placed on the 10-day IL with a left calf strain. Morales is the 20th player to go on the IL this season for the Yankees, matching the team’s total for the entire 2018 season. ... The Yankees sent utilityman Brad Miller to the Phillies for cash. Miller will join his new team Friday night for a series opener in Atlanta. He hit .250 with one HR and four RBIs for the Indians this season before being designated for assignment and clearing waivers April 22. He was batting .294 with 10 HRs and 29 RBIs for Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre.

■ Dodgers: SS Corey Seager was placed on the IL with a left hamstring strain. Seager suffered the injury in the ninth inning of Tuesday’s 5-3 loss to the Angels. An MRI revealed that the strain is less severe than initially believed. Seager, 25, who missed most of the last season after Tommy John and left hip surgeries, could still spend a month rehabbing his current injury. The setback couldn’t have come at a worse time for Seager, who had a season-high, nine-game hitting streak during which he was batting .459 with seven doubles, one HR and nine RBIs.
