Five stores open at Boca Town Center

Five new retailers have joined Town Center at Boca Raton, the mall that calls itself “Palm Beach County’s premier luxury shopping destination.”

Cariloha, a Caribbean-based maker of bamboo bedding, apparel and accessories, opened in September in the Nordstrom Court. Its product line includes shirts, pants, underwear, sheets, shirts, mattresses, towels, bedding, socks and jackets that are sold at more than 50 retail showroom locations in 16 countries.

Lovisa, an Australia-based brand that sells “on-trend fashion jewelry at ready-to-wear prices,” opened this month between Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue. Its website features a “spring racing” section featuring lines meant to be worn at the Kentucky Derby, Melbourne Cup and other spring horse races. Products include headbands, flower crowns, rings, and necklaces.

Charley’s Philly Steaks recently opened in the Cafes at Boca, as the mall calls its food court. The company was founded in 1986 by an undergrad of Ohio State University as Charley’s Steakery. Its growth was fueled by popularity of its fresh-made Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, loaded gourmet fries and all-natural lemonade. Today there are more than 600 locations in 46 states and 17 countries, primarily in shopping centers and airports and on military bases.

Now open near Center Court, Wetzel’s Pretzels, is a shopping mall mainstay. Founded in 1994, the chain offers hand-rolled freshly baked pretzels served hot from the oven in several flavors: original, “Sinful Cinnamon,” sour cream and onion and almond crunch. Other popular menu items are cold drinks, cheese pretzels, pretzel-wrapped hot dogs, dips and bite-sized “bitz.” Wetzel’s joins its arch rival, handrolled pretzel purveyor Auntie Anne’s.

Also open at the mall is Candid, which offers clear dental aligners, near the Cafes at Boca. The company says it differs from at-home aligner options because they utilize only orthodontists, rather than primary dentists, and conduct a more thorough examination of patients’ mouths.
