CeeLo Green, Veronica Vega, Amara La Negra to help open GhostBar

- By Rod Stafford Hagwood

Nope, it has nothing to do with Halloween. But you could hardly be blamed for thinking that since GhostBar Restaurant and Nightclub is the name of the new sports bar opening in Hollywood (across the street from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino).

“The name is actually related to the owner’s name,” explains Emanuele Mancuso, GhostBar’s marketing director, in an email interview.

The grand opening this weekend is promising some big names in the hip-hop, dancehall/ reggaeton and R&B scenes.

CeeLo Green will appear on Friday, Oct. 18.

Amara La Negra and Veronica Vega, singers best known for appearing on the VH1 reality TV series “Love and Hip Hop: Miami,” will perform Saturday, Oct. 19.

R&B singers and actors Mýa (“Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights”) and Rotimi (“Boss” and “Power” on Starz) will take the stage on Sunday, Oct. 20.

“We wanted to create an atmosphere where our clientele can mingle with their favorite athletes, movie stars or social media influencers,” writes Mancuso. “CeeLo is loved by the [South Florida] community and it seems like a perfect fit.”

So, Hard Rock Casino is a neighbor?

GhostBar is 5,000 square feet with a restaurant and lounge upstairs. Downstairs is the nightclub, which is still being renovated. As for being across the street from Hard Rock and all the buzz created by that property’s expansion, Mancuso says that’s all a happy accident and not part of any plan to siphon any media coverage.

“Not really, but it worked out that way,” he says. “We are actually opening up a week before the Seminole Hard Rock Casino Hotel, but our expectation is to get pretty busy when they open.”

Mancuso adds, “Being able to be across the street from such a beautiful landmark, we just felt like it would really complement our bar by having one of the best views in all of South Florida of the Hard Rock Guitar Hotel.”
