Cops: Missing woman last seen with murder suspect
The search for a missing woman with mental health issues has become a little more urgent since detectives learned she may have been seen with a murder suspect who was arrested the next day.
Socheata Blossom Weimer, 20, was reported missing by her family on Feb. 26 when she failed to return to a recovery center in Lantana, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff ’s Office.
On Thursday, the agency said detectives have learned that when Weimer was last seen she may have been with Terrance Bernard Warner Jr., 29, before the Broward Sheriff’s Office arrested him Feb. 27 in an unrelated West Park murder case.
Warner, who is being held in Broward’s jail without bond, was a fugitive since the shooting death of Clifton AfflickLaidley, 31, in 2018. Co-defendant Jimard Mitchard Fox, 29, is also charged in the murder, court records show.
Weimer has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum, Bi-Polar Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and has not been taking her prescribed medications, according to PBSO.
The agency has not indicated how Weimer and Warner may have come together, but officials suggest Weimer may be susceptible to strangers.
She is “vulnerable to influence and has been taken advantage of in the past because of her disability” and has no cellphone or transportation, the sheriff’s office said in an advisory seeking the public’s help with locating Weimer.
Investigators are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Weimer to contact Detective John Cogburn at 561-688-4063, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office dispatch at 561-688-3400 or the nearest law enforcement agency.
