Inter Miami allowing limited number of fans
Inter Miami CF season ticket holders will finally be able to watch the team play from inside Inter Miami CF Stadium on Saturday.
The club announced Wednesday morning that it’s allowing a limited number of fans to attend Saturday’s home game against in-state rival Orlando City SC.
The stadium has been closed to the public this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The team allowed about 350 members of its supporters groups to watch Inter Miami’s game versus Atlanta United FC on Oct. 14 from the stadium’s north stands, marking the first time it allowed spectators outside of staff and family members of the team to attend a match.
Tickets to Saturday’s match, which kicks off at 2:30 p.m., went on sale exclusively to full seasonticket holders Wednesday at 7 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. It wasn’t known how many fans the club was allowing into the stadium.
Inter Miami will implement multiple COVID-19 protocols. Face masks will be required in the stadium. Spectators will have their temperatures checked before entering the stadium and a socially distanced seating plan has been created.
All fans must have a prepaid parking pass to enter the stadium’s parking lot, which opens at 2 p.m., and concessions will be prepackaged.
Saturday’s matchup is a pivotal game for Inter Miami (5-11-3, 18 points), which is just outside the playoff standings in 12th place in the 14-team East Conference standings. The top 10 teams in the conference make the playoffs.
Orlando City (8-2-8, 32 points), No. 4 in the East, is in the midst of a 12-game unbeaten streak and has a 2-1 advantage in the season series against Inter Miami.
