A man with a history of domestic violence is accused of stabbing two women at a Tri-Rail station in Hollywood, police say.

Tracy Cross, 37, was arrested Monday night in Miami Gardens on charges of first-degree attempted murder and grand theft auto.

The stabbing Monday morning “appeared to be” a domestic violence incident, according to a media release from the Hollywood Police Department. Hollywood Fire Rescue transported both women to the hospital following the stabbing. One of the women remains in critical condition in the ICU.

The release did not specify the nature of the relationship between the two women, between either of the women and Cross, or whether one of the women was the intended target of the stabbing.

Cross, of Miramar, has a history of domestic violence charges, records show. In February 2022, he was arrested on domestic battery charges after his wife told a Miramar police officer that he punched and choked her during an argument, according to a probable cause affidavit. The State Attorney’s Office dismissed the case in May.

In July 2019, Cross was arrested on charges of violating a restraining order after he entered an ex-girlfriend’s home while she was there, according to a probable cause affidavit. She told police that he had come to retrieve clothing, then went upstairs and went to sleep. The State Attorney’s Office dismissed the case a month later.

Cross also has multiple prior convictions of grand theft, one of which was grand theft auto, according to the Florida Department of Corrections. In 2015, he was sentenced to two years and six months in prison for grand theft, burglary, criminal mischief, and racketeering. He was released a little over a year later, in August 2016.
