Dolphins to keep tackle Lamm

Valuable reserve had eight starts, provides offensive line depth

The Miami Dolphins are bringing back a valuable depth piece on the offensive line for 2024.

Veteran tackle Kendall Lamm agreed to terms on a one-year deal to return to the Dolphins, according to a league source.

Lamm, who turns 32 on June 5, was a key reserve for Miami last season, especially at left tackle behind for Pro Bowler Terron Armstead.

Lamm was solid in eight starts in 2023 as the Dolphins’ primary backup swing tackle.

The former undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State has made a steady career for himself, appearing in 104 games for four teams over nine seasons.

He spent his first four years with the Houston Texans before bouncing around between the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans in ensuing seasons.

Lamm first signed on to the Dolphins’ practice squad late in the 2022 season before breaking through to make the active roster and start a game that season. He then became a priority to have return for 2023, with Miami re-signing him the first day of free agency last offseason. He proved why when he played in all 17 games.

The Dolphins return starting tackles Armstead and Austin Jackson in 2024.

The interior of their offensive line will look different, though. They lost right guard Robert Hunt in free agency and picked up former Tennessee Titans center Aaron Brewer.

They also re-signed Isaiah Wynn, a converted tackle who started at left guard in 2023, along with backup guard Robert Jones. Miami also signed former Philadelphia Eagles tackle Jack Driscoll, who has position versatility on the line.

Other returning reserve linemen are 2021 second-round pick Liam Eichenberg and tackle Kion Smith, who made the team in 2023 after a couple of years on the Dolphins’ practice squad.
