Main St. Gallery raffles Danny Doughty painting for charity
CAMBRIDGE — Main Street Gallery has a tradition of giving back to the community during its annual “Artful Giving” exhibit, a news release states.
This year, Mid-Shore Meals Til Monday, a “backpack” program that sends home nutritious meals and snacks to 350 Dorchester County school children, will be the recipient of the gallery’s giving.
Until Dec. 15, Main Street Gallery is raffling off an untitled painting by artist Danny Doughty.
Doughty, who lives and operates a gallery in Onancock, Va., is a well-known and sought after visionary folk artist. Doughty’s paintings are about the people and places that nurtured him as he grew up in challenging circumstances on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, the release states.
All proceeds from the raffle of Doughty’s painting will go to Mid-Shore Meals til Monday to help stock their pantr y with the healthy foods they provide for children.
The drawing for the painting will be at Main Street Gallery on Dec. 15, and you do not need to be present to win. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the gallery at
