HURLOCK — Martha “Miss Patty” Rhue, 88, of Hurlock, Md., died Thurs­day, Nov. 29, 2018, at John B. Par­sons As­sisted Liv­ing in Sal­is­bury.

Born July 31, 1930, in Hurlock, she was the daugh­ter of the late Ol­ney Perry Ross Sr. and Car­rie Dare Bell Ross.

She was a life­long res­i­dent of Hurlock, grad­u­at­ing from Hurlock High School. Patty worked as a sec­re­tary for many years, end­ing her ca­reer at Pre­ston Truck­ing Com­pany. She was a mem­ber of Unity Wash­ing­ton United Methodist Church, where she was a long-term sec­re­tary/trea­surer for the Sun­day School and ac­tive with the ladies group. Af­ter re­tire­ment, she vol­un­teered at Hurlock El­e­men­tary School for 20 years. Patty en­joyed knit­ting, sew­ing, gar­den­ing and spend­ing time on her porch.

She is sur­vived by two

sons, Michael E. Rhue and wife Pamela of Blades, Jerry L. Rhue Sr. and wife Shelby of Hurlock; a daugh­ter, Patty Vin­cent and hus­band Terry of Sal­is­bury; two grand­chil­dren, Jerry L. Rhue Jr. and wife Shan­non, Kelsey A. Vin­cent; a brother-in-law, Henry Downs Wheat­ley of Seaford; a sis­ter-in-law, Vir­ginia Nau­gle and hus­band Bill of Hurlock.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, she was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Her­man Eu­gene Rhue, who died Dec. 13, 2001; two sis­ters; and two broth­ers.

Fu­neral ser­vice will be held on Sun­day, Dec. 2, 2 p.m. at Unity Wash­ing­ton United Methodist Church in Hurlock, where the fam­ily will re­ceive friends one hour prior to the ser­vice. Pas­tor John Allen will of­fi­ci­ate. In­ter­ment will fol­low in Unity Wash­ing­ton Ceme­tery.
