Laura Price receives MACo Executive Committee post
CAMBRIDGE — Talbot County Councilwoman Laura Price was honored at the Maryland Association of Counties installation of 2019 directors at the Hyatt Regency resort Thursday, Jan. 3.
Price was honored by having a place among other executive committee members at the head table on stage in the Chesapeake Ballroom. She was introduced to the audience by MACo Secretar y Jan Gardner.
Price served the previous four years on MACo’s board of directors.
“After ser ving the past four years on the board of directors of MACo, I am very honored to be able to serve on the Executive Committee,” Price said “It is the culmination of eight years of becoming immersed in the unique role MACo plays in county government and actively participating in the planning and execution of its policies. It is the only organization in which each
county, regardless of size, has an equal voice in shaping legislative and executive actions.”
Price said she has had to testify on issues in all of Maryland counties. She said MACo is a unique organization, and she was looking forward to serving on the executive committee and being a legislative representative.
“During the eight years I have represented Talbot County, I have been asked on many occasions by MACo to testify on issues of importance not only to Talbot County but to all the counties in the state,” Price said. “I have served on countless committees and helped get MACo’s message before our legislative bodies and the governor.”
