Laura Price re­ceives MACo Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee post

CAM­BRIDGE — Tal­bot County Coun­cil­woman Laura Price was hon­ored at the Mary­land As­so­ci­a­tion of Coun­ties in­stal­la­tion of 2019 di­rec­tors at the Hy­att Re­gency re­sort Thurs­day, Jan. 3.

Price was hon­ored by hav­ing a place among other ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee mem­bers at the head ta­ble on stage in the Ch­e­sa­peake Ball­room. She was in­tro­duced to the au­di­ence by MACo Sec­re­tar y Jan Gard­ner.

Price served the pre­vi­ous four years on MACo’s board of di­rec­tors.

“Af­ter ser ving the past four years on the board of di­rec­tors of MACo, I am very hon­ored to be able to serve on the Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee,” Price said “It is the cul­mi­na­tion of eight years of be­com­ing im­mersed in the unique role MACo plays in county gov­ern­ment and ac­tively par­tic­i­pat­ing in the plan­ning and ex­e­cu­tion of its poli­cies. It is the only or­ga­ni­za­tion in which each

county, re­gard­less of size, has an equal voice in shap­ing leg­isla­tive and ex­ec­u­tive ac­tions.”

Price said she has had to tes­tify on is­sues in all of Mary­land coun­ties. She said MACo is a unique or­ga­ni­za­tion, and she was look­ing for­ward to serv­ing on the ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee and be­ing a leg­isla­tive rep­re­sen­ta­tive.

“Dur­ing the eight years I have rep­re­sented Tal­bot County, I have been asked on many oc­ca­sions by MACo to tes­tify on is­sues of im­por­tance not only to Tal­bot County but to all the coun­ties in the state,” Price said. “I have served on count­less com­mit­tees and helped get MACo’s mes­sage be­fore our leg­isla­tive bod­ies and the gover­nor.”
