STEVENSVILLE — James Joseph Mow­ery Sr. of Stevensville, Md., passed on Dec. 27, 2018. Born on May 26, 1947, in Bal­ti­more, Md., the son of the late James Hous­ton Mow­ery and Kath­leen White Mower y.

Jim worked for and part­nered with four dif­fer­ent com­pa­nies over the years, most re­cently Bacharach, which he re­tired from in 2018.

He is sur­vived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Ge­orgeanne M. Dells Mow­ery; daugh­ter, Jenny Hunt (Sean); his mid­dle son, James J. Mow­ery Jr. (Michelle), their chil­dren Am­ber, Kate­lyn, James; his youngest son, Joseph B. Mow­ery (Betty), their chil­dren Sky, Lily, Joe Jr., Jade, Alex; his honorary son, John Mer­son (Tammy), their chil­dren Tris­tan, Karli; his close ex­tended fam­ily, Tif­fany, Mar­tin, Alyssa, Tea­gan, Cather­ine,

Oc­to­ber and Mar­cus. He is also sur­vived by his sis­ter-in-law, Mil­dred Her­shey; his brother-in-law, Wal­ter Mer­son (Car­roll); and brother-in-law, Henry Mer­son. He is loved from East Coast to West Coast with tons of nieces, neph­ews, cousins and friends.

A memo­rial ser­vice will be held on Feb. 2, 2019, at 3 p.m. fol­lowed by catered fel­low­ship at the Fel­lows, Helfen­bein & New­nam Fu­neral Home P.A. in Ch­ester, Md.

The fam­ily re­quests that, in lieu of flow­ers, that memo­rial con­tri­bu­tions be made to BARCS in Bal­ti­more, An­i­mal Res­cue League in Queen­stown or Ch­e­sa­peake Cats and Dogs in Queen­stown, Md.
