and Announcement Policy The Community Calendar and Announcement sections are for non-profit organizations such as churches, schools, and benefits helping families or certain groups. The benefit must run what it is and where the money is going. No prices will be allowed in the placement. For example, no ticket price, no door price or no prize price.
“Donations will be accepted” is acceptable language, but no amount is allowed. Items in question will be handled on a case-by-case basis and placement or non-placement will be at the discretion of the editor and the publisher.
The placer always has the opportunity to purchase an advertisement in the paper to run the full announcement. If he or she wishes to do so, they will be directed to advertising for their assistance. Feel free to contact us at 325-236-6677.
Recurring Events
Rotary Club meets every Monday. Lion’s Club meets every Tuesday. Kiwanians Club meets every Wednesday. Buck’s Karaoke every Thursday. 1st Tuesday of every month is Let’s Talk Books at the County-City Library from 12-1 PM. Every Thursday is Children’s Hour at the County City Library from 10:45-11:30 AM. After school programs for all Middle and High School students at the Shop on Tuesday s and Thursday from 4-6 PM.
Thursdays Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery is now meeting at the LifeHouse, located at 1208 Hailey St. on Thursday nights at 6:30 PM. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered program with foundations firmly established in Biblical truth. It’s a safe place to address your hurts, habits and hang-ups regardless of what they may be. Clothes Closet Open Tues-Thurs
The Clothes Closet at FUMC will reopen its doors Tuesday, August 4 with lots of new clothing and shoes.
Masks will be required for all adults and children. Those interested will need to park at the front of the Church, walk up the sidewalk and turn right. A representative will meet you and check your temperature. This will be needed to be done before entering the church building.
Questions should be directed to Karan at 2356261 The Clothes Closet will be open every TuesdayThursday 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., the same as the Food Pantry.
Women’s Resource/ Crisis Pregnancy Center Has Reopened
The Women’s Resource/ Crisis Pregnancy Center Has Reopened to the public.The Center is located at 310 Hickory Street 325235-2100.
The new hours are: Monday -Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. til 3:00 p.m.
“We have diapers, lotion & baby bath wash, bottles, as well as formula.
We also have a supply of “gently used” clothes sizes O through 24 months. And be sure to ask about our “Earn & Learn” program where you can watch Lessons on prenatal care and Infant parenting from Birth to One Year Old which Allows you to earn points to get new baby clothes and other items.” A representative said.
Women’s Resource Center 310 Hickory provides Prenatal and Infant assistance With physical and spiritual needs.

Sweetwater FUMC is hosting a one night event Grief Share-Surving the Holidays. we are meeting Tuesday, November 10 at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We will follow CDC regulatioons due to COVID-19.
